New Toolkit to support people with disability experiencing violence and abuse

The new Disability Support Toolkit is for frontline workers who support people with disability experiencing violence and abuse. People with disability are more likely to experience violence and abuse. They are also less likely to reach out for support. This Toolkit gives workers the tools and information they need to better support people with disability who have been impacted by violence and abuse.

The Toolkit includes:

  • videos about how to contact 1800RESPECT and how the service works
  • free Easy English booklets about what violence and abuse is, what your rights are and where violence can happen
  • information about the Sunny app, which was created specifically for women with disability.

The Toolkit is part of the Disability Pathways Project. This project aims to improve service referral pathways and responses for people with disability who have been impacted by violence or abuse.
