Preparing, managing, reviewing or changing a plan are important processes for every NDIS participant as these processes will determine the level and types of support received.

There are several points in the process where advocacy may help to communicate the preferences or concerns or to safeguard the rights and interests of the participant.

At various stages of the planning process the Scheme should allow for the participant to be highly involved and to exercise choice and control over his or her life and supports.

The Act also envisages, however, situations in which some participants will have limited input. Participants should be aware of the right to make decisions to ensure their choice and control is not unduly limited during the process.

A range of resources and services are available to support planning. Info
